The Darfield Area Amenity

Society Limited.

Welcome to our website.

We are a village Civic Society with a forty year old history.

The interests of our members are many; we are open to all who have the well-being of the village of Darfield in South Yorkshire at heart.

On this site, in four sections, we shall try to:

Show you something of the history and achievements of the Society, together with some of the things that the press has had to say about us. PLUS. A new section of news about the museum, the society and the village.

Describe the Maurice Dobson Museum and Heritage Centre which opened at Easter 2001, including some of the artefacts that we have on display and the unique craft items that you may buy in our shop, all produced by local craftspeople.

Show some aspects of the village, its history and activities that take place.

Show what Darfield can offer the tourist who decides to visit us, with a map of the village Heritage Trail.
